President's Message

The Kimberley Bavarian Society Chamber of Commerce is an organization with a long and distinguished history in developing Kimberley to what it is today and I am proud to be the current president.  During the 1970s and 1980s the Kimberley Bavarian Society and the Chamber of Commerce did enormous and unprecedented work through its volunteers in creating the Bavarian feel of Kimberley.  It is these volunteers that deserve an enormous thank-you for taking pride in Kimberley.

Like all communities, Kimberley is ever changing and evolving.  Since the closure of the Sullivan Mine in December of 2001, Kimberley has slowly progressed from a resource based economy towards one based upon tourism and the enjoyment of lifestyle.  We are attracting many new residents from retirees to younger families looking for a less hectic way of life than found in the big cities.  As a Chamber of Commerce, we are focused on taking advantage of our strengths to make Kimberley an even better place to live and work as well as an enjoyable place to visit.  Kimberley has a lot to offer residents and visitors in a down-to-earth setting tucked in the Purcell Mountains.

As the President of this organization I urge all residents to take pride in Kimberley and get involved in your community as the rewards of being an active, contributing resident are great.  Since I became involved in the Chamber of Commerce I have enjoyed every minute knowing I can and have made a difference.

Kimberley is a great community and I am delighted to say the Chamber of Commerce has been and will continue to be an integral part of this wonderful place.

Don McCormick

Kimberley Bavarian Society Chamber of Commerce
