The City of Kimberley, along with The Kimberley &District Chamber of Commerce are hosting the 2nd annual regional business expo to inform future and current business owners of support agencies that focus on business and employment in this region. Participants include Community Futures, Business Development Bank of Canada, Work BC (EK Employment, City of Cranbrook, Cranbrook Chamber of Commerce, The Columbia Valley Chamber of Commerce, Southern Interior Development Initiative Trust, Columbia Basin Trust's Economic representative, Ktunaxa Nation Employment Sector, Kootenay Rockies Innovation Council, Invest Kootenay, Basin Business Adviser, Industry Training Authority, the Ministry of Jobs Tourism and Skills Training, Sun Life, and Kootenay Savings Credit Union. Admission is free. Lenders, advocates, business employment program representatives, business succession support, along with recognized professionals in technology and economic forecasting will be in attendance. This is an opportunity for business operators to find, and meet these organizations in one setting. There is no charge to attend this event.

The Kimberley and District Chamber of Commerce’s Business Excellence Awards will be held on October 24th at the Kimberley Conference & Athlete Training Centre. The gala includes an outstanding dinner featuring prime rib, vegetarian lasagna, music from Rick Parsons, and open discussion about business in Kimberley, the award ceremony, and a great time. Tickets are only $40.
The Chamber is hosting a working breakfast at B.J.’s Creekside, 340 Mark St., on October 15, 2015 between 7:30 am and 9:00 am with guest speaker, Kim Andres. Kim Andres is the national program manager for the Canadian Business Owner Strategy (CBOS) which is a research-focused collaboration amongst Canadian credit unions. She will be presenting highlights from their research focused on the drivers of successful small businesses at a breakfast meeting being held at B.J.’s . At this session you will learn about consumer, technology, operational and personnel trends. Be prepared for an interesting and interactive morning session to reinvigorate you and your business as you prepare for the future of your business.
