Kimberley and District Chamber of Commerce

The Kimberley and District Chamber of Commerce was founded in 1923 with the goal of furthering the interests of local businesses.

Our mission is to serve as leaders in the promotion, development, growth and prosperity of business in our community.  We are the voice of Kimberley Business.
The Chamber continues to successfully advocate on key areas such as the Village Market, By-laws, parking, tourism, city forest interface and various bylaws affecting businesses. 

Our goals include the delivery of Best Practices in governance, communication, community partnerships and member value.

The Chamber is incorporated under the Board of Trade Act and is composed of a volunteer board of directors, the chamber executive director, regional business members and community partners.

NEW BOARD OF DIRECTORS


On Friday January 13 our membership met at our AGM and elected our new Board of Directors.  New board members: Greg Bradley - Tekpro Information Solutions, Darren Close - East Kootenay Realty, Tamara Duggan - Kootenay Automotive Equipment, Schaun Goodeve - Green Dimensions Consulting, Kieran Hickey - Kimberley Lodging Company, Janet "JJ" Johanson - Bear's Eatery, Ted Murrell - Overwaitea, Adrian Pembroke - Pembroke Holdings, Liana Shaw - Investors Group Financial Services Inc., Grant Sharam - Kimberley Conference and Athlete Training Centre, Virginia Watson - Trickle Ridge Resort Property Maintenance. Returning directors are: Jennifer Beatty - Healing Touch Family Chiropractic, Ted Funston - Kimberley Alpine Resort, Becky Pelkonen - St Mary's Band.

On Friday February 10 our new board participated in a Strategic Planning session facilitated by Ingrid Liepa.  In addition to setting priorities for the year a new executive was elected:
President - Darren Close

First Vice President - Kieran Hickey

Second Vice President - Greg Bradley

Treasurer - Ted Funston

The Athlete Training Centre is a unique feature of the facility with accessible weight training room, sit-ski waxing room, video traing room and direct assess to the lifts and training runs.  The training centre complements the four other accessible facilities in Kimberley: The Civic Centre Arena-Sledge Hockey, Kimberley Nordic Centre, Kimberley Curling Club and the Kimberley Aquatic Centre.
