Advocacy Initiatives

Kimberley Investment Readiness & Attraction Strategy Project (2025-2026)

Following our economic development advocacy efforts in 2024, the Chamber was successful in being selected to develop a comprehensive Investment Readiness & Attraction Strategy for Kimberley. This initiative will position our community to attract new businesses, diversify our economy, and create local employment opportunities.

This project is supported by the Province of British Columbia's Rural Economic Diversification and Infrastructure Program (REDIP). The Chamber received $82,000 in funding to conduct a comprehensive review and strategy, with the Chamber contributing $18,000 in funding over two years in support of this project.

Federal Election Forum - April, 2025

In order to support the 2025 Federal election, the Kimberley Chamber organized an all-candidates forum to provide Kimberley residents the opportunity to hear directly from candidates on important issues. This free event drew 188 attendees and was the first of several forums held in the Columbia--Kootenay--Southern Rockies riding.

Kimberley Business Retention & Expansion Project

Complete in the spring of 2025, the Kimberley Business Retention and Expansion (BRE) project provided a comprehensive snapshot of the local business climate, and identified key trends, challenges, and opportunities. By gather information on business health and concerns, the Kimberley Chamber is better able to advocate on behalf of the community.

Working Groups

Resort Municipalities Chamber's Coalition

The Chambers of Commerce that operate within the fourteen designated Resort Municipalities in B.C. share common issues and believe a collaborative effort in advocating for their members and the broader business community will be more effective and efficient than any individual effort done in isolation.

As a member of the coalition, the Kimberley Chamber of Commerce works alongside its partners to amplify the needs of local businesses at the provincial level and undertake efforts to advocate on their behalf.

Kimberley Resort Development Strategy Working Group (2025-2027)

In support of the City of Kimberley, this working group provided input into the identification of projects and gathered information and expertise used to advance the implementation of the 2025-2027 Kimberley Resort Development Strategy.
