The fourth intake of the Rural Economic Diversification and Infrastructure Program (REDIP) launched on July 24th and will close on October 31st. There are four streams: capacity, development, implementation and community transition. There have been a few program updates for this intake, as described below:
The capacity grant will now provide $50,000 per year for up to three years, with eligibility to access up to $100,000 to launch priority projects, based on the submission and approval of required reporting.
Capacity funding applications only need to include a budget for Year 1 of capacity funding.
REDIP eligibility will now be guided by the eligibility matrix – please use the Eligibility Matrix Look Up Tool to determine eligibility for various streams.
Non-profits are now only eligible for development and implementation grants.
For the implementation grant, applicants with a total project cost of $500,000 or higher will be required to provide a higher applicant contribution (40%) than those below $500,000 (20%). Funding from federal, non-profit (economic trusts), and lending organizations can be included in the applicant contribution.
Sector specific considerations (e.g. manufacturing, natural resources, clean growth, agriculture, tourism etc.) are now included beginning on page 13 of the Program Guide.
New funding applications will not be reviewed if the lead applicant organization has not completed previously funded projects and submitted all required reports by December 31, 2025.
